I have been living in Apple Valley, Minnesota since 1996. Apple Valley is a suburb of St. Paul. I work in the Human Resources department of NCS as a Technical Recruiter. Remember taking all those standardized tests with your #2 pencil? Well, NCS invented the optical mark reading technology back in the '60s. I've been with NCS since October of '98. For the past 3 years, I've been singing in a Sweet Adelines Chorus. The chorus I'm in is called City of Lakes, and we are one of the top Sweet Adelines choruses in the world. It is so much fun. When I'm not working or singing, I like to get out and explore the Twin Cities area. Lots to see and do around here. No husband and no kids, so I can go out to play whenever I want to!

I am "retired" now due to my heart disease and fibromyalgia, but I'm still very active as a non-denominational Spirit-filled pastor, doing marriage counseling and whatever comes my way. - Message: 04/11/2007- Just an update. I am currently working for a public school system in Massachusetts. I have lived in Athol, Massachusetts since 1980, when I followed my first husband here after he was discharged from the Navy. The winters have much to be desired, but it's a great place to raise children. I have 2 children from my first marriage, Amy (25 in June) is attending the University of Massachusetts Medical School and will graduate in May 2008 with her masters degree as a Nurse Practitioner. My son Ryan (23) works as an Activity Leader for the YMCA in our small little town, and loves working with the children. I remarried in 2003 after my marriage of 23 years ended. I have found my "best friend and lifelong solemate" in my new husband Jim. We bought a house together in 2000, fixed it up and now live there with our 2 (canine) children Tanner and Tassey both cocker spaniels. Jim is a Facility Maintenance Manager for Georgia Pacific and drives an 18 wheeler as a!
"hobby". We both love to travel, mostly to Nascar races. We bought a large 5th wheel and travel to the tracks and usually camp right there for 4 - 12 days. Most of the raceways have their own campgrounds with all the hookups. My children and I are planning a visit in June to see my mother, grandmother, sisters, brother and nieces, but mostly to see the "Red Sox" play the Padres. My mom is a season ticket holder and would you believe is was cheaper to buy plane fare and tickets to the games in San Diego then to get and pay for tickets in Boston? And they say it's expensive to live in Southern California. Well I guess this should update my life for now. Still haven't made it to any reunions. Maybe by the 50th!!! You all take care and Betty Mayers would you e-mail me. BethKathy De Haan (now Ackerman)

Left George's at the Cove in 2005 to pursue a career in Insurance, then Real Estate, then worked for Electrical Contractors who downsized & let me go. Traveled to Ireland...June-July 2007...(for 5 weeks with Mom, & Son (27) it was beautiful, & relaxing to say the least, the highlight was attending my cousins wedding at Dromoland Castle, Ireland, it was a 2 day event fairy tale wedding, WOW.....Ireland is not little thatched roof homes anymore.....I am truly blessed. Still single since 1991,(a lucky man has not found me yet) raised my Sons, now 24 & 27, both working in Construction, both in the Union, GREAT guys, very proud of them & myself !!! I am currently working p.t. as a coordinator for a State regulated company called 'CIEE' placing high school students in homes, & the local high school. Ironically, the my first student almost got placed at Castle Park, but the host family lives closer to Chula Vista High, so he will be attending school there. If anyone is interested in becoming a host family, please contact me, there is no pay for the host family, but you do get to deduct -50.00 a month for taxes, they are currently working on getting that raised to $200.00. If anyone is interested in becoming a coordinator, the pay is minimal, but as I understand there are great benefits, just started myself. Looking forward to hearing from former classmates. For the first time in my ENTIRE life I am living ALONE, now I understand the term "empty nest syndrome" time to take care of OLD projects! (yeah right??) take care, God Bless..........Belinda

CP memories were of great friends and greater parties!! It just me now and I am enjoying "my time". Take good care all. I'm still in Chula Vista.

- Message: After moving back to SD in 1983, I worked in mortgage loan servicing for 11 years, ending up with Glendale Federal. Being a 'savvy user' of our computer system, I was hired by ALLTEL (then CPI Computer Power Inc) in Jacksonville, FL. They moved me here in 1994, shortly after our 20th reunion, to be a Customer Service Rep. Now I help people who do what I used to do. We're organized regionally, so that I support West Coast clients, so many of you probably have mortgages serviced on our computer system by one of our clients out there. I love the job, it's a perfect blend of teaching, learning, and analysis/research. And, I even get to contribute as a subject matter expert (i.e. the one who has done the job) in developing enhancements to our system. The city is very nice...good sized, but not to huge. And, it is beautiful and green. I had gotten so tired of the glass/asphalt/concrete/brown look of SD and all the traffic. However, it is hot & humid about 5 !! months of the years, and there are lots of nasty bugs. I'm kind of phobic and have had a few interesting encounters. It's also convenient for short vacations. Just a couple hrs North is Savannah GA, 4 hrs to Charleston, SC (love that town), 1/2 hr South to St. Augustine, and a couple hrs south to Orlando. I'm hooked on part of Disney World that's called The Disney Institute, check if out if you go there. Valerie Bailey came to visit for a few days in May, we did St. Augustine and made a day-trip to Savannah, it was great. I'm planning on visiting her in Minneapolis next year. By the way, if anybody's looking for my sister Ivy, class of '77, she's living in Las Vegas, if you want to e-mail a message to her through my address, I'll pass it along.

- Message: (July '09) Wow! Hadn't been to the Alumni website before and was amazed at all of the updates -- it was great! I have been married for 26 years to Frank "Rusty" Riley (no relation, I promise!) and we have two wonderful children. Our daughter, Briana is 21 and finishing up her final year in college with a degree in social work and a heart as big as all outdoors! Our son, Taylor is 20 and currently serving our country in the Marine Corps. Though I've lived in Texas since 1980, Taylor just got stationed (of all places!) in San Diego at Miramar! We get back to San Diego annually as my folks and my sister's (Joy Riley, CPHS class of 1972) family still live there. My brother's (Frank Riley, CPHS class of 1971) family moved out here to Texas several years ago, so I have family in this part of the world as well. Rusty and I are in the process of getting licensed to foster/adopt, so our family may be changing again soon. I worked for Texas Instruments for 19 years until they closed their doors here in Lubbock back in 1999. I have worked since then with X-FAB Texas, the company that bought the TI plant. Most of those years have been in some aspect of HR, from Employee Relations Rep/Manager to HR Manager. Life is fun and filled with exciting changes. I would love to hear from you!

- Message: What's new??? Well I believe I have finally found the man of my dreams. Some of us just take a little longer than others. I have spent most of my career in the defense business, and I am currently a Financial Analyst at Comptek. Belinda and I are still best friends and see each other as often as we can. I look forward to seeing old friends at the twenty-fifth reunion this coming year. As some of you know, I have been the treasurer for the reunion committee for the past fifteen years. That old school spirit never dies. I have a daughter that has just graduated this year as an honor student at West Hills High in Santee. She is now attending college for business marketing. I also have a (soon to be) daughter, eight years old that I look forward to raising. The wedding? May 1, 1999!!!! I love to hear from old buds,
so send me a note.
