- Message: How wonderful to read what many have to say. There a quite a few missing though. After Castle Park I went to College like most of us did. I worked for Pacific Bell as an operator and made several radio commercials for them. I was working a strike line when I was recruited to become a member of the San Diego Police Department. Went through the Academy, graduated with my badge number being my birth date of 1212. Met my husband (a Highway Patrolman) in 92'. We have a son Alex, who is 17 and will be graduating from High School in 11'. He plans on becoming a Police Officer as well. We moved to Fort Mohave, Arizona in 08' after being burned out of San Diego County wildfires. We love it here. I own and operate the only Yarn store in town. I also teach Knitting and Crocheting at the local Community College. I can honestly say I have really enjoyed my life and I am looking forward to 50+ more years. I still have places to go and people to meet. Anyone ever decide to visit Laughlin, Nevada for the weekend send me an email. I live just across the Colorado River.

- Message: Hi there everyone! It's been such a long time and I haven't made it to one of our reunions! Mostly because I didn't know about them with moving so much and was hesitant to come back, as it seemed like so many people didn't like me in our Class at CP as there were alot of untrue rumors passed around about me, so I've stayed away all this time. Also, I haven't lived in California since the early 90's. I'm happily married to a wonderful guy. We lived up in northwest Washington State for quite a few years and we're now living down on the beautiful Gulf Coast of Alabama. We've had four wonderful sons and six grandchildren, so far. We moved down here about three years ago when my husband retired and are enjoying the Gulf Coast life style. We play tennis regularly - 4 to 5 mornings a week we also enjoy walking on the sugar white sandy beaches here & in the parks and other places near our home, and used to go hiking & backpacking alot up in Washington and were in a line-dance club - that's how we met. We also enjoy gardening and some traveling when we can. I do some writing for a website, but am mostly retired. I'd love to hear from any of you when you can.

I just found this website and am delighted. I have been in education for the past 30 years, helping students daily 'survive' high school. I married Chuck Golden (Bonita Vista '69) who I met at Cal Poly. We married in '75 moved to Hemet and had two children. Sadly, Chuck was killed in a car accident in 1989. I made it through that terrible time and my children are doing well. My daughter graduated from UC Berkeley in 1999, and my son from UC Santa Barbara in 2004. I remarried and feel so fortunate to be married to a smart, kind, talented and funny man who is a fellow educator. We live in Temecula and Oceanside; work together at Chaparral High School. We have season tickets to the Padres, so we're in San Diego often. I keep thinking I will run into someone from high school....I wonder how life turned out for all of you, so the information on this site was fun to read.Linnea Danielsen

- Message: Castle Park: What a long strange trip it's been. Who said "if you remember the '60's you probably weren't there"? Occluded at times, certainly, but I still recall some high points. It is gratifying to read the comments of other alums and hear of their successes. I returned to school after a stint in the construction business in the mid-70's and graduated from SDSU in 1980 with a geology degree. I worked in geotechnical consulting for several years, and earned a Masters in hydrogeology in 1993. I am currently a senior engineering geologist & Deputy City Engineer for the City of San Diego (long may it stay solvent). I met and married my sweetheart, Brenda, in 1987, a first for us both. Paul Cheak ('70) was my best man. Brenda is an executive assistant with Bekaert Specialty Films. I convinced her to move to the Allied Gardens area from the LA area where she grew up after moving to the States from Montreal. I doubt we will be moving anywhere else soon. We have been blessed with 3 wonderful children: Gavin ('89), Monique ('92), and Brenden ('98). I updated my email address in January of 2006, and I would enjoy hearing from anyone. Rob

I quit my job in middle management at SEARS Head Office in Toronto and took my Master's. After spending 10 years in Mexico City, teaching and training national workers (both in Mexico City & Chiapas) our family returned to Canada. I am currently living in Red Deer, Alberta (just north of Calgary)where I am pastor of a church with the Christian & Missionary Alliance. My wife, Linda, and I have three children. Our son is in his 3rd year of Engineering and our oldest daughter is in her 2nd year of Geology -- both studying at the Univ of Alberta in Edmonton. - Message: My thanks to Andrew Malana, Class of 1980, for making this site a success and also to Laraine Kitlinger-Yates (1970) for all of her hard work on organizing the 2000 Reunion scheduled for this fall. I know that it takes a lot of work and it has to be a labor of love to do these things. Thank you. Since my last message, my two boys have changed the most with Brad having one more year of college to go to complete his bachelors and masters in materials engineering and Andrew starting his second year of college this fall at Chico State in industrial technology. Brad is in Rome this summer for 6 weeks on a mission with Campus Crusades for Christ. They are looking to convert someone to Christianity in Rome. It sounds like a pretty tough job (funny). Andrew is working in a cabinet shop during his summer months and is becoming quite an accomplished cabinet and fine furniture craftsman. He has earned awards at the California State Fair for his Classic Roll Top Desk and Armoire that he built in high school wood shop. I would like for Wendy Maruyama to see his work sometime. Jeffrey and I enjoyed our 25th anniversary this past April 2000, spending a few days in Napa, staying at a bed and breakfast and touring the wineries in a limo. We highly recommend it as an enjoyable get away. The wine was good too.

- Message: Well so much has changed since the first time I submitted information to the CPHS webpage. I guess the best thing is my wife and I are first time Grandparents as of 02/01/02! A beautiful little boy. What a feeling it is to hold him. Can you tell I'm a proud Papa? One side effect is that my wife Janet is getting older. Isn't it strange how that works?... I moved to Denver in 2000 to be with my sister who was sick with cancer. She was also a CPHS grad. class of 1968, Virginia [Peyton] Speyer. She died Sept. 2000. She was the best sister and friend anyone could ask for. She is every much loved and missed by all of her family and friends!... Looking forward to moving back to my family and new grandson sometime this summer. I've been working in a hospital maintenance dept. and really love the job. I will miss it when I leave here, but I miss my family more. Besides there are other hospitals in Boise, ID....Well to all you CPHS Alumni take care and GOD BLESS

I may hold the class record with 20,374 days of continuous bachelorism. However, after 16 years of being engaged to Kay, we traded promises and precious metal, 04-01-08. That's right: "April Fool's", because Leap Day had already passed by. She is now a great grandmother, because like all men, her #2 grandson has two brains and can only use one at a time. Otherwise, I am settling into all of the pre-geriatric benefits. Having recently danced at the edge of eternity, I can regale being formerly dead for 20 seconds, in 2008. We have 2 sons, Doug 33 & Brian 31 who has given us 2 grandchildren--Brandon 6 and Autumn 4. I retired from the USAF in '93, and actually graduated from ASU in 2005. We have lived in Germany, Florida, New Mexico, Idaho, and Arizona. I now work with the Florence Unified School District. If you can remember me, I was in band, wrestling, and track. Fond memories of those years -- I saw Ray Sablan's post and remember him last seen at Coronado Beach. Take care all!

- Message: Out of curiosity I searched Castle Park in my search engine and learned about this website. I have never made it to any of the reunions but still think about a lot of good times had at CHP. I wonder about friends and how they are doing now so it's good to find a few names here that I remember. I went to school, went on a mission for 2 years to Bolivia, got married in 1974 and am still married to Barbara. We have 4 children, all out of the house now (9/2002) Our sixth grandchild is due in a few weeks. I completed 26 years working for INS and although eligible to retire, plan to go a few more yet. We have been in San Diego, Utah, the north end of I-5 on the Canadian border near Blaine, and currently live in Spokane, WA. I read about tha comments on Football, I recall it the same way, but realize we are getting dangerously close to "The older I get, the better I was" syndrome. Still, we were good! Hope the years since graduation have been as enjoyable as the time we enjoyed together!

After High School graduation, went to UCSD for 1 year until I got a draft notice the summer of 71'. Joined the Air Force to see the World...Well, I saw San Antonio TX, Danville IL, Minot ND, Sacramento CA, Guam & Thailand. 4 yrs was enough and went to college in the Southeast...Met a Southern Belle and eventually married, but only for 2 yrs. I've stayed single since then and have no children (least, I don't know of any). I get back to San Diego about 4-5 times a yr to see family and for business. I went by the "Trojan Land" during a recent Xmas visit and it looks smaller than I remember and I don't think "We" needed the fence around the school in those days of 70'....Well, you have my Email IDs. I came upon this site while investigating any plans for the "30th" Reunion for the Class of 70. I'll take out my YEARBOOK and see if I can remember the name & face as I hear from you...TAKE CARE PS: If you know anything about the "idiots" I hung out with such as Phil Roach, Mark Gonsalves, Augie Gomez, Sergio Garcia, Regina Davis, Louis Perez or others, let me know. It would be greatly appreciated.
